Behind every safe, supported birth is a midwife who deserves to be supported. Your generosity helps us care for the caregivers—offering immediate assistance when illness, trauma, or emergencies interrupt their ability to stay on call.

The CARE Fund (Coverage Assistance & Rest Equity Fund) is MA-NACPM’s new initiative to support midwives in moments of illness, crisis, and exhaustion by helping to cover the cost of emergency call coverage. When midwives have space to rest and recover, families receive safer, more sustainable care.

This Giving Tuesday through December 31, 2025, we are making the CARE Fund our year-end fundraising priority. Our goal is to build a strong, ongoing safety net so that when a midwife needs to step back — to heal, grieve, or simply rest — client care can continue without interruption.

Your donation directly strengthens:
• Access to short-term coverage for midwives in times of need;
• The sustainability and equity of community-based midwifery;
• The continuity of safe, relationship-centered care for families.

A grant from the BEE Collaborative established this fund and gave us a starting point, but it is not enough to sustain this work. The CARE Fund can only thrive if we build it together.
