User study by MIT Media Lab x Sonos-Sound for gestational synchrony
Participant Eligibility:
- 30 or more weeks pregnant
- Musically inclined or actively interested in music
- Able to attend study sessions in the Boston / Cambridge area
- No prior known cardiac conditions
Study Details:
- 1-hour visit to the listening rooms in Sonos' Boston office
- You will wear an ECG monitoring device on your belly, and participate in listening and vocal exercises.
- Transportation can be arranged and covered.

The proposed regulation implements the requirements stated in M.G.L. c. 112, §§ 290-297 as inserted by section 38 of Chapter 186, of the Acts of 2024 An Act Promoting Access To Midwifery Care And Out-Of-Hospital Birth Options.

NACPM Statement on Informed Choice: Midwifery’s Role in Emerging Public Health Questions
In recent months, questions have surfaced around issues such as the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine and use of acetaminophen during pregnancy. We understand how quickly such concerns can raise uncertainty for midwives and the families we serve. At NACPM, we believe the midwive's role is not to dictate choices, but to ensure that every client has access to clear, evidence-based information, supportive alternatives, and the space to make decisions aligned with their own values and circumstances.

The Birthworker Equity in Education (BEE) Collaborative awarded MA-NACPM a Caring for the Caregivers Mini-Grants for a total award of $5,000.00. Over the next several months MA-NACPM will create guidelines for usage, scheduling. and payout. Stay tuned for updates!
